All cats and dogs staying at, or visiting, Mahon House must have been fully vaccinated, within the last 12 months, to the level as defined by the licensing authority.

The vaccination certificate must cover:

  • Canine distemper
  • Infectious canine hepatitis
  • Leptospirosis
  • Canine parvovirus

We strongly recommend vaccination for Kennel Cough. We do not insist on this but failure to vaccinate is at the owner’s risk.

Please note: Kennel Cough is a live vaccine; therefore no dog is permitted to enter the kennels if the vaccine for Kennel Cough has been administered within 2 weeks prior to drop off date. This is to prevent the risk of spreading the disease to other boarders.

The vaccination certificate must cover:

  • Infectious feline enteritis
  • Feline respiratory disease

Please remember to bring the vaccination certificate with you when you bring your pets to us. If you have lost the paperwork, your vet will be able to provide you with a duplicate.

Note: If your pet’s vaccinations have lapsed, you may need to ‘re-start’ – this will entail two injections two or three weeks apart. Please check the paperwork well in advance of any planned stay, to give you time to organise a vaccination if necessary.
